The journey of life transformation begins ahead of SOT

Dear Lord,

So many things have happened these few days, or in the past week. Just thought I would quickly immortalize some thoughts before I forget them and then those important things never materialize.

I had fun doing a short Bible study on Ps 91:1-8. I shall continue with verses 9-16 soon, but I want to embark on another journey with Proverbs.

It is so strange that Rosa sent me Proverbs 3:5-8 on WhatsApp, and somehow I was able to read it in NKJV. I do hope that some of the verses which I have read over the last 20 years are somehow carved into my memory, because to be honest, I haven't been reading the Word consistently for the past donkey years. Even while reading it during the church-wide Bible reading program, I felt like I was doing a duty, and not really getting any revelations from it. Like, there is really no point reading for the sake of reading, there must be divine revelation given by Holy Spirit when I read the Bible!

God I pray that I never read another verse of the Bible without the guidance and presence of the Holy Spirit.

Anyway back to what You wanted me to do, memorise the book of Proverbs. I don't know if I can do it honestly, I will try my best, and remember that with man it may be impossible but with God all things are possible. If it is indeed from You, then I trust You will empower me to do it. If I fail, then I fail, at least I tried.

So today, I will start with Proverbs 3.

1 My son, do not forget my law,
But let your heart keep my commands;
2 For length of days and long life
And peace they will add to you.

3 Let not mercy and truth forsake you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart,
4 And so find favor and high esteem
In the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
8 It will be health to your flesh,
And strength to your bones.

9 Honor the Lord with your possessions,
And with the first fruits of all your increase;
10 So your barns will be filled with plenty,
And your vats will overflow with new wine.

11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,
Nor detest His correction;
12 For whom the Lord loves He corrects,
Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

13 Happy is the man who finds wisdom,
And the man who gains understanding;
14 For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver,
And her gain than fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies,
And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand,
In her left hand riches and honor.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
And all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her,
And happy are all who retain her.

19 The Lord by wisdom founded the earth;
By understanding He established the heavens;
20 By His knowledge the depths were broken up,
And clouds drop down the dew.

21 My son, let them not depart from your eyes—
Keep sound wisdom and discretion;
22 So they will be life to your soul
And grace to your neck.
23 Then you will walk safely in your way,
And your foot will not stumble.
24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.
25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror,
Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;
26 For the Lord will be your confidence,
And will keep your foot from being caught.

27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
When it is in the power of your hand to do so.
28 Do not say to your neighbor,
“Go, and come back,
And tomorrow I will give it,”
When you have it with you.
29 Do not devise evil against your neighbor,
For he dwells by you for safety’s sake.
30 Do not strive with a man without cause,
If he has done you no harm.

31 Do not envy the oppressor,
And choose none of his ways;
32 For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord,
But His secret counsel is with the upright.
33 The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked,
But He blesses the home of the just.
34 Surely He scorns the scornful,
But gives grace to the humble.
35 The wise shall inherit glory,
But shame shall be the legacy of fools.

Whew! There are 35 verses in one chapter! This is going to be tough! Nevertheless, I will try.

Also one more follow up prayer is for Jason Yeo, one of our ex cell group members. God I don't know exactly what is going on, but I believe that You put his name into my heart for a reason, and I pray that You be with Him in whatever situation He is going through, that You bring healing and peace and comfort to him and his family, that You will remove every weakness, sickness or demon that is tormenting him, and bring Jason back into Your kingdom. Please tell me what I need to do for him, keep praying for Him, meet up with him and talk to him to encourage him? I will do what I can, in accordance to Your will.

In addition, with regards to James and Amanda, Lord I really don't know what I can do for them, or how I can help them. But since both Joan and Rosa have reminded me of the obligation that I have to a brother and sister in Christ, I will try my best to do my part, although I don't wish to be seen as intrusive or rude, what You want me to say or do, supersedes what I feel. Let Your will be done in their lives, and I pray that You use me as a vessel, instruct me as Your vessel, to do what You want me to do. I lift up their lives, their relationship, and their families into Your hand, I pray that they are able to see You move mightily in their lives once again, and bring about great transformation and restoration to their souls and relationships.

Finally, for Joan, I pray that you allow us to conceive a child for You. If we are able to have a child, I commit him or her into Your loving hands, and ensure that the child will serve You for all of his or her days. I commit this child into Your hands, come and work a miracle in our lives.

Actually, aside from all these things, You know the biggest flaw in my life right now. Please help me deal with it, I don't want to go into SOT while still having this problem.

In Jesus name I pray, amen.
