Two songs which are so relevant today, which I will use to worship God

Spirit touch Your church Lord, we need Your grace and mercy We need to pray like never before We need the power of Your Holy Spirit To open heaven's door Spirit touch Your church Stir the hearts of men Revive us Lord With Your passion once again I want to care for others Like Jesus cares for me Let Your rain fall upon me Let Your rain fall upon me Lord, we humbly come before You We don't deserve of You what we ask But we yearn to see Your glory Restore this dying land Father We Declare We lift up our eyes above the troubles in our land And together we stand to declare You as King In times like these we choose to praise You For it's You, it's You who really matter You are worthy of all praise And we will say that You are good And all the miracles You've done have brought us joy For we are changed And all the hope we have we placed in You right now Father we declare that we love You And We declare our everlasting love for You Father we declare that we love Y...

Part 3 - A personal understanding of Ps 91:9-16

Although Pastor Kong didn't tell us to memorise the rest of the chapter, I feel that in order for completeness, we should or at least I should, attempt to try to remember the remainder of the verses, so that I may strengthen my spiritual vocabulary, so that when I pray, I may pray out of the Word more than out of feeling. There is power in the Word, and more so when it is prayed out from memory.  Ps 91: 9-10 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; This is in complete agreement with Ps 91:1-3, and is a repeat of the promise that as long as you take refuge in the Lord, He will ensure that you do not fall into the trap or the "snare of the fowler", and that you will be safe from "perilous pestilence". It is a promise and not just a statement! Only that verse 10 elaborates further, and states that "nor shall any plague come ne...

Breaking down Proverbs 3 as requested

Proverbs 3:1-2 My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands; For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you. Explanation: A command from the Lord to remember His 10 commandments, and to follow the laws of God, and in return, I will have long life and peace. This is indirectly linked to the commandment to honor our parents, which is the only commandment which has a reward of long life, and also the land which the Lord will give to us. In Exo 20:12, the Bible states "“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you". So not only do we have long life, land given to us, but we will also have peace on that land. It is definitely not so good for land to be provided but for the occupants to find out that they would be besieged on all sides or experience many troubles when they occupy that land. Proverbs 3:3-4 Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your n...

Called to worship

Dear Lord, It's been so long since I worshipped you with my guitar in the secret place... I pray that I will remember to go back to my roots, to my first love, my secret place where I can find You and encounter You, have conversations with You, and experience Your love again and again and again, so tangible and so powerful. I don't know why but I awoke at 3 am, and You called me to worship You with old songs from the Cross album, Sanctuary, Refuge, God of My Forever, Take All of Me, etc... And when I sang those songs, even if only in my head, I could feel Your presence and I wept quietly. I need to have a good and proper worship session again. Simply to enjoy Your presence. Without any other agenda, just to worship the God of the universe, the God of my life. I will remember this Lord, and I will spend my weekend seeking Your face. In Jesus name I pray, Amen

The journey of life transformation begins ahead of SOT

Dear Lord, So many things have happened these few days, or in the past week. Just thought I would quickly immortalize some thoughts before I forget them and then those important things never materialize. I had fun doing a short Bible study on Ps 91:1-8. I shall continue with verses 9-16 soon, but I want to embark on another journey with Proverbs. It is so strange that Rosa sent me Proverbs 3:5-8 on WhatsApp, and somehow I was able to read it in NKJV. I do hope that some of the verses which I have read over the last 20 years are somehow carved into my memory, because to be honest, I haven't been reading the Word consistently for the past donkey years. Even while reading it during the church-wide Bible reading program, I felt like I was doing a duty, and not really getting any revelations from it. Like, there is really no point reading for the sake of reading, there must be divine revelation given by Holy Spirit when I read the Bible! God I pray that I never read another ver...

Awakened by a strange dream

Dear heavenly Father, I pray for Jason Yeo right now that whatever he may be going through, that You be there with  him. I declare Ps 91 over his life right now, that he will remember that You are his refuge and fortress, and in You he will trust, You will deliver him from the snare of the Fowler and from any perilous pestilence, that no harm will befall him as long as he dwells in the shadow of the alrighty God. Whatever he is going through, Lord You shall be there for him and protect him. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
